Espejador: noun  mirror worker; a person who facilitates healing by helping you see yourself more clearly

Hi there! My name is Benjamin. I do medicine work and I’m here for you. I’ve been working with plant medicine for half my life, both personally and guiding/supporting others. My goal as an espejador is to help you cut through illusions, make your own discoveries, and see yourself and your next steps with more clarity. We are all capable of facilitating our own healing, but it is much easier to do this work in front of a mirror if you dare to look. Here’s a bit of my story and how I got here:

Several years ago I had a challenging series of ceremonies. They surfaced a lot of trauma that I had not been consciously aware of, and at the time I didn't have the tools to understand the lessons I was given. All I had were confusing snippets and pervasive feelings of purposelessness, being trapped, and not belonging. Nobody in my life seemed to understand or to be able to truly support me and I spent about 2 years struggling through that on my own as things got worse. Eventually, some pieces started to crystallize in my understanding but it wasn't until I took a deep dive into attachment theory that I truly felt I was able to understand and integrate the lessons from my ceremony. Until that point I had never fully appreciated the importance of proper integration, and the value of western modalities in conjunction with traditional medicine work. That conjunction allowed me to completely transform my life in very meaningful and aligned ways.

In the aftermath of that transformation, I began to realize that all the work I had done for myself helped me develop a set of skills that are beneficial to the people around me as well. Having felt firsthand how devastating that low period was and how rewarding it was to make it through to the other side, I felt the desire to support others on their own paths of emotional and spiritual growth. I felt called to change my path from a physics PhD to pursue this medicine path. My practice utilizes the skills that I have developed for processing trauma, active medicine work, and integration. My physics background continues to guide me as well, both in the spiritual quest to make sense of the universe and through the analytical skills that I've been able to apply to solving problems that arise in this new line of work.
